Our latest award was announced recently when Mombo and Little Mombo were listed in the Top 30 Resorts in Africa (excluding SA) category, in the highly esteemed Condé Nast Traveler’s 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards.
The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are one of the longest-running and most prestigious recognitions of excellence in the travel industry; this year, more than 600 000 Condé Nast Traveler readers across the globe submitted a record-breaking number of responses, rating their travel experiences to provide a full snapshot of where and how people travel today.
Little Mombo listed as Fodor’s Finest Travel Hotel Award Winner for 2020 in the Best Hotels in Africa category – October 2019
Fodor’s Travel has been around for years, with a fine team of editors that travels the world to discover unique destinations and hidden gems. Their Top 100 Hotels in the World is tailored to their number one request from readers, which is hotels that offer a unique experience, something new and undiscovered. The Top 100 list includes many of the best hotels in the world.
Mombo and Little Mombo listed in the USA Condé Nast Traveler’s 2019 Hot List – April
The coveted Hot List is the publication’s annual pick of the ‘best of the best’, predicting where travellers are headed to next. The only hotels that make it to the list are those that dare to change the game and push boundaries. Places where guests are already dreaming of going back, even before they leave. This year only two camps from Botswana made the list, and Mombo was one of them!
Mombo included in AFAR's inaugural Stay List: The Best New Hotels in the World – April 2019
This year AFAR magazine, with a viewership of 1 300 000 per month, included Mombo in its first-ever Stay List’s Remote Hideaways category, which lists not just the best hotels in the world but those that are able to deliver more by connecting guests with their place of location and the local people of the area.

This prestigious annual award, now in its 14th year, sees Travel + Leisure’s team traverse the world to engage with the very best in the hospitality industry in order to find its gems. This year Mombo made it to the coveted list, being recognised for its ‘near-perfect marriage of style, luxury, and sustainability’.
Little Mombo wins Best in Africa Tatler Travel Award – November 2018
In 2018, the influential Tatler Travel awards had been running for 26 years when Mombo won the Best in Africa category, being listed among just six other luxurious properties from around the globe. The British magazine referred to Mombo as one of the best game-viewing situations in Botswana.

The SBID Awards are regarded as one of the most prestigious accolades in the interior design industry, representing talent and design excellence across all corners of the industry. Each entry undergoes an exclusive two-tier judging process by panels of leading industry experts for both technical content and aesthetic creativity, as well as an evaluation of brief compliance, budget, health and safety, and fit-for-purpose design.
